Green Home Grant Scheme

What is the Green Home Grant Scheme?

Under the new scheme which is only available in England, homeowners and landlords will be able to apply for vouchers worth up to two thirds of the cost of upgrading the energy efficiency in their home. The maximum contribution they are able to apply for is £5,000 per measure. Households on low income will be eligible for a maximum of £10,000.

How to apply?

Use the Simple Energy Advice website for advice and support. They will be able to suggest the appropriate energy saving home improvements that you might be able to apply for.

They use approved registered tradespeople from TrustMark or Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Vouchers will be issued by the end of September once the work has been agreed and ensure improvements are completed by 31/03/2021.

What improvements can you get under the scheme?

The available measures are split into primary and secondary measures.

You must install one primary home insulation or low carbon heating measure to qualify for funding.

If you choose to install one primary measure, you can use your voucher to cover the cost of a secondary measure.

  • cavity wall
  • loft
  • flat roof
  • room in roof
